Marquis of Granby
Change of use from Drinking Establishment to Health and Well-being centre
Client: Riverside Estates NW Ltd
Overview
The Marquess of Granby has stood proudly on Church Street, Warrington, since at least 1660. In 2019, however, the Grade II listed pub closed its doors to punters, and this heritage asset was at risk of falling into disrepair.
In 2021, NUKO Planning successfully secured planning permission for its conversion into a mixed-use health and wellbeing centre (Class E) offering complimentary therapies and advice. The application runs alongside a Listed Building Consent' for internal alterations to the historic fabric, and a further application for landscape works, restoring this piece of Warrington's history and bring it back into active use - perhaps for the next 400 years!
